Steephill Cove

Steephill Cove is best understood by its surface and tide pattern: Small cove with shingle, sand patches, rocks, fishing boats and rock pools. Small beach with tide-dependent rock pools; usable space reduces at higher tides.

For the water, Good for a sheltered dip in calm weather for competent swimmers; watch rocks, seaweed and lack of lifeguards. No regular lifeguard service found.

Practical notes: Poor for mobility access: no road access to cove and steep pedestrian routes from parking. Use Steephill car park or Ventnor Botanic Garden area and walk down; spaces are limited in peak weather. Nearby options include ice cream, cafes.
