The team at Freshwater Independent Lifeboat Station welcomes you back to its Freshwater Bay shop for the reopening. The shop returns after the rebuild and extension of the boathouse, with its usual gifts, souvenirs and lifeboat merchandise on sale. Pop in for a browse and a hot or cold drink, whether you have supported the charity for years or are calling in for the first time. The team hopes to welcome familiar faces and meet new visitors.
A purchase here helps support a rescue service with roots in west Wight. Local people founded Freshwater Independent Lifeboat in 1972, and volunteers continue to run its boats and shore operations. The charity relies on donations, shop sales and community fundraising to keep that work going. If you want a small present or a souvenir of the bay, buying it here contributes to the service based on this stretch of coast.
The reopening day runs from 10:30am to 4:30pm on Saturday 17 October. You can call in during those hours and leave time for a stop by the bay before heading home. The shop plans to remain open through Sunday 1 November, so there is a chance to return later in the fortnight. Check with the team for the opening hours on those later dates if you are planning another visit.
