Wild Night Out is a free evening of nature and conversation at Calbourne Water Mill. The Isle of Wight Biosphere Youth Representative has planned it around a bat walk and time beside a fire pit, giving younger adults a reason to meet outside the usual pub or daytime volunteering. The organiser describes it for ages 18 to 35. The ticket page also says attendees must be 18 or over.
It runs from 7pm to 9pm on Saturday 10 October at the IW Biosphere Hub, based at the Water Mill on Newport Road. Places are free but must be reserved through Eventbrite. October evenings in Calbourne can turn cold once the light drops, so dress for time outdoors and wear footwear suitable for the walk. The published information doesn’t promise an indoor fallback if the weather interferes.
It’s a short introduction to the local Biosphere network, not an all-night festival. Two hours is enough to join the walk, warm up by the fire and meet people interested in the Island’s wildlife.
