Sea View Yacht Club

A sailing club on Seaview’s Esplanade, with waterfront dining, sailing activities and a social calendar that includes public charity events.

Sea View Yacht Club sits on the Esplanade in Seaview, with the water beside its clubhouse. Sailing shapes club life, from dinghy racing to its Mermaid keelboats, but the calendar also includes meals, talks and charity gatherings. For a visitor coming to an event, the waterfront address is the useful starting point: Esplanade, Seaview, Isle of Wight, PO34 5HB. The club overlooks the sea on the Island’s north-east coast, close to the village streets where you can browse shops or find somewhere else to eat.

The club welcomes visiting members of other yacht or similar clubs and offers visitor moorings and a seasonal launch service. Anyone arriving by boat should book ahead and check the club’s current instructions. Strong northerly and easterly winds can affect the moorings and launch. For lunch or supper, check table availability and visitor eligibility before travelling. The club publishes bar and restaurant hours, but special events can change the usual arrangements.

Public fundraisers offer another reason to visit. The RNLI Christmas Bazaar, for example, welcomes non-members as well as members, so you can attend without joining the club. Check the terms for the particular event you plan to attend; an open bazaar does not describe access to other club activities. Ask the office about accessibility, parking or bringing a dog, as the visitor information does not settle those questions. You can reach the club on 01983 613268.
