Beer & Steam: Saturday

Beer & Steam opens at Havenstreet with real ales, cider and a 2 Bit live set. Festival entry is free; trains cost extra.

Presented by Isle of Wight Steam Railway

Beer & Steam is back at Isle of Wight Steam Railway for a Saturday of real ales, cider and live music at Havenstreet. The site and festival area are free to enter, so you can browse the bars and hear the music without a train ticket. A ride behind a steam locomotive costs extra. The band 2 Bit plays on Saturday afternoon, giving the station a live soundtrack while people choose their drinks and look round the heritage railway.

The festival runs from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 10 October, and the band plays from 1pm to 4pm. Getting in is free, but drinks and rail travel are paid for separately. If you want a train trip too, check the railway's timetable and current fare first, especially if you want to be back at Havenstreet before the bars close. It's a working station. Some outdoor areas have uneven ground, so wear shoes that are comfortable for walking between the platforms and event spaces.

This food and drink event can be a quick stop or a whole day planned around the trains. If you're drinking, arrange a safe way home, and don't assume a train will be running when the festival closes. Bring ID in case you're asked to prove your age. The railway event page has the latest drinks and music details and the train timetable. Check it again closer to the weekend, because operational arrangements can change.
