Counterfeit Quo mark thirty years on the road with a full-throttle Status Quo tribute at Shanklin Theatre. If you grew up with denim, Francis Rossi's headband and Rick Parfitt's grin on Top of the Pops, this is the kind of Thursday night that does not ask you to be ironic about it.
The set romps through more than twenty top-ten Quo hits, including Rockin' All Over The World, Down Down and Whatever You Want, with the band's own claim that original drummer John Coghlan has worked with them and that Rossi and Parfitt gave the act their seal of approval. That pedigree matters less than whether the room moves, but it explains why the show has lasted three decades.
Tickets are £30 including the listed booking fee. Shanklin's old village and seafront make it easy to turn the evening into fish and chips, a cliff walk or a late drink without a long drive home. Book early if you are planning around the school holidays. Browse more music events on the Isle of Wight if you are building a tribute-heavy July week.
