Cowes Classics Day: Classic Cars on The Parade

Classic cars, vintage boats, People's Choice voting and a Spitfire display fill The Parade in Cowes for a free final-day Cowes Classics Regatta event.

Presented by Cowes Classics Regatta

Cowes Classics Day brings vintage cars and classic boats onto The Parade in Cowes for a free waterfront display on the final day of Cowes Classics Regatta. If you like a Sunday plan that works for several generations at once, this has the right mix: engines, polished paintwork, harbour activity, food stalls, live entertainment and enough movement along the seafront to stop the children drifting.

The draw is the detail. Organisers expect more than 50 classic car owners to bring treasured vehicles, with Bentleys, Jaguars, Triumphs and MGs among the names on the poster. Boats sit close by, which gives the whole thing a Cowes feel rather than a static car-park display. Refreshment stalls and live entertainment are part of the day too, so you do not have to build the whole visit around one activity or keep everyone in the same spot. Use The Parade, Cowes as your base and let the day stretch towards Trinity Landing, the High Street or the marina if people need a change of pace.

People's Choice voting gives browsers a reason to pick favourites rather than simply walk past. Organisers plan to announce winners at 15:00, followed by a Spitfire display at 15:45, so arrive before mid-afternoon if the sky display is the part you do not want to miss. The free entry makes it useful for a low-commitment family outing, especially if you are already looking at heritage and history events around the Island.

Because this sits in the heart of Cowes, the practical bit is simple: check parking and ferry traffic before you set off, bring layers for the waterfront wind, and leave time to wander. If the display finishes before your day does, Cowes gives you easy options for an ice cream, a drink, or a slow walk past the harbour before heading home.
