Cowes Fringe - Friday

Cowes Fringe opens with music, theatre, comedy, and performance across local venues in the sailing town.

Presented by Cowes Fringe

Cowes Fringe opens on Friday 22 May across the pubs, venues, and outdoor spaces of the town, and the Friday evening always carries the energy of a programme about to properly start. Music, comedy, and theatre spread across Cowes for three days, with the Friday line-up typically drawing the island audience that has planned ahead and the visitors who have found out about it mid-week and come for the weekend specifically.

Cowes in late May is the sailing town before the sailing season has taken over, which gives the town a particular quality: the waterfront is accessible, the High Street has life, and the venues that host Fringe events are not yet in the crowded mode that regatta weeks produce. The festival programmes local Isle of Wight acts alongside national touring performers, and the Friday evening line-up tends to be the one where the most interesting bookings sit.

Ticket prices vary by event; some free. Check Cowes Fringe for the Friday programme. More music and arts events across the three-day festival.
