Fright Night Fancy Dress Ball: Before Midnight starts at Robin Hill in Downend near Newport at 7pm on Saturday 31 October. This adults-only Isle of Wight Halloween party runs until 1am on Sunday 1 November, and one admission covers the lot, including the hour after midnight. Dress for the weather as well as the occasion: the organisers recommend warm fancy dress for the woodland approach, though the ball itself is in the Woodland Ponds all-weather marquee.
You reach the ball along the Cursed Woods Scare Trail. Inside, The Night Crawlers and a DJ provide the music, with Halloween characters and themed lighting around the party. Your ticket includes a cocktail and canapés on arrival, plus a cheese grazing board from 10pm. Other hot food and drinks cost extra. There’s a best-dressed competition with prizes too, so it’s worth putting thought into an outfit you can keep warm in.
