Fireworks with Mountbatten brings an afternoon and evening programme to Robin Hill in Downend before the fireworks light up the sky. The event supports the Isle of Wight hospice charity, with live entertainment giving you a reason to arrive ahead of the display. Gates open at 3.30pm on Saturday 7 November, and the first entertainment starts at 3.45pm. You can choose an early arrival for the programme or plan your visit around the evening music and fireworks.
Raw Samba performs at 5.15pm, followed by Vote Pedro at 6pm. The fireworks start at 7pm, with the site closing at 8.30pm. Adult admission costs £7.50, children aged five to sixteen pay £5, and under-fives enter free. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £20. Purchase admission in advance, as Mountbatten expects the event to sell out. This is an outdoor November evening, so warm layers and footwear for the park will make the wait for the display more comfortable.
Parking and transport have separate charges. Robin Hill parking costs £5, the Isle of Wight College park-and-ride costs £10 per car for up to four people, and the South Street shuttle costs £3 return. Check the Mountbatten event information for the arrangements that suit your journey. Only registered assistance dogs can attend. If you want another outing that supports island organisations, browse the community events programme for fundraisers and local gatherings.
