NT Live: Les Liaisons Dangereuses screens at Apollo Theatre in Newport, bringing Christopher Hampton's celebrated adaptation to the Isle of Wight for one evening. Apollo's listing names BAFTA Award-winner Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner in a new staging where reputation, desire and power games carry a real cost.
This is the kind of arts and theatre event that earns a place in the diary when you want something polished but still local. The story's world of glittering salons and social traps should work well on screen in Apollo's smaller auditorium, where the faces and silences matter as much as the grand speeches.
Make it a Newport evening rather than a rushed dash: arrive early enough for the theatre bar, then let the screening do the heavy lifting. As with all one-night NT Live dates, check the ticket link before travelling and book if you need a specific seat.
