Sunday Live: The Lazerhearts

Sunday afternoon live music at The Waterfront, Totland Bay (The Lazerhearts on the poster). Music from 3pm; check venue for food service times. Source: venue poster / eatbythesea.com.

Presented by The Waterfront

The first Sunday of July at The Waterfront is school holiday territory, and the Totland Bay promenade tends to fill up in a different way from the quieter June afternoons. The Lazerhearts play the Sunday Live slot on 5 July, and the name suggests an indie-influenced set that works for a mixed crowd of families, teenagers, and the Sunday regulars who have been coming to the series since before the school holidays started.

The Lazerhearts are a live band with a sound that benefits from the outdoor setting: bigger and more direct than a smaller indoor venue would allow, but contained enough that the Sunday afternoon format stays intact. The terrace at The Waterfront faces west toward the Needles, and July afternoons at this end of the island have a particular brightness that the east coast and the mainland both lack. Food served through the afternoon, no booking required.
