Sunday Live: Mumma Mia

Sunday afternoon live music at The Waterfront, Totland Bay (Mumma Mia on the poster). Music from 3pm; check venue for food service times. Source: venue poster / eatbythesea.com.

Presented by The Waterfront

Late July Sundays at The Waterfront are often the busiest of the season, and Mumma Mia on 26 July gives the promenade at Totland Bay an occasion that the standard sunny Sunday does not always have. ABBA's catalogue in a seafront setting with food and drinks and no admission charge is a formula that works with almost any size of crowd, and The Waterfront in late July tends to be well-populated.

Mumma Mia bring enough theatrical energy to the ABBA material that the set feels like a show rather than a playlist run through a PA. The Sunday Live format does not usually accommodate acts who require a theatrical set-up, but Mumma Mia keep it simple enough that the promenade terrace does the work. The audience tends to know the words. Singing along is expected and encouraged.

Free entry, no booking. Food and drinks all afternoon. The Waterfront, Totland Bay. More music events running through the Isle of Wight summer.
