Appley Manor Hotel on Appley Road in Ryde is a Victorian house, and local diners can visit the restaurant without booking a stay. It dates from 1850, when it was a gentleman's residence, and it later served as a boys' preparatory school. The architecture took its inspiration from Osborne House, and an observation tower overlooks the Solent. Look out for both when you arrive, even if you've only come for a meal.
The Manor Inn Restaurant is attached to the hotel and welcomes day visitors and local residents. You can meet friends for a meal here, with seasonal seating on the patio and in the garden. Appley Beach is another option for time outdoors, so you could start at the beach and leave time for a restaurant table afterwards.
Couples can book exclusive use of the hotel and grounds for a wedding, with twelve en-suite bedrooms for guests staying over. At a viewing, the events team can talk you through the dining room and drawing room, plus the gardens and the direct footpath to the beach, handy for photographs. For other gatherings, ask about the separate function room or private dining. The hotel handles meetings as well, so a smaller occasion doesn't need an exclusive-use wedding booking.
