Tandem Tea Rooms

Tandem Tea Rooms serves breakfast, lunches and cream teas at Wolvesey House in Brighstone, a village building with a past as the post office.

Tandem Tea Rooms occupies Wolvesey House on Main Road in Brighstone village. An activity booking may list it as Wolvesey House & Tandem Tea Room, and that is the same venue. Julie and Zoe opened the current tea rooms in April 2024, serving breakfast and lunches, plus cakes and cream teas for anyone after a smaller stop.

The building has been the village post office, a bistro and a bed and breakfast as well as tea rooms. Julie and Zoe choose local suppliers and products to support surrounding shops and communities. A cream tea and a long catch-up suit the place better than a quick coffee on the way past.

Island Pottery Painting has held pop-up sessions here, so a café visit can end with something you painted yourself. Those sessions have their own dates and bookings, so choose an advertised workshop if you want to paint during your visit. Check the separate pottery charges and collection arrangements with the organiser. Coralesce Stained Glass runs hands-on glass workshops at Brixton Barn if you want another craft outing in the village. Check each workshop’s arrangements for finishing and collecting your work. On a day without a workshop, the tea rooms are still a good stop for breakfast, lunch or a cream tea.
