Totland Pier
A west Wight landmark at Totland Bay, useful for sunsets, shore walks, sea views and slower coastal plans.
Totland Pier sits at the head of Totland Bay on the west side of the Isle of Wight, where sunsets, beach walks and sea views do most of the persuading. It is a natural meeting point if you are exploring Totland Bay, Colwell, Freshwater or the quieter edge of West Wight. The mood is slower than the bigger resort beaches, which is part of the appeal.
The pier has a long local story and remains one of those landmarks people use for directions, photographs and end-of-walk moments. Even when you are not visiting for a specific event, the bay gives you a simple plan: stroll the seawall, watch the weather move across the Solent, then decide whether to stay for food or keep walking towards Colwell and Yarmouth.
Nearby The Waterfront makes an obvious food or drink stop, while Fort Victoria Country Park extends the day towards woodland and shore. Bring a layer even on bright days, because the west Wight breeze can change the plan. Check tide, weather and current pier access before making a special journey, especially outside the main season.
It is also one of the simpler places to take visitors when you want the west Wight to make its own case.
