Baron Strange & The Blackbyrds Album Launch

Past event

This page shows the historical details for Saturday 13 June 2026. If this event returns in 2027, the new details are not published yet.

Baron Strange & The Blackbyrds launch A Long Time Coming at Strings Bar & Venue, blending blues, southern rock, grunge, and rock 'n' roll.

Presented by Strings Bar & Venue

Baron Strange and The Blackbyrds recorded their debut album "A Long Time Coming" at Empire Sound studio on the Isle of Wight, and the launch at Strings Bar and Venue in Newport on 13 June is the first full performance of the material. The album blends blues, southern rock, grunge, and classic rock'n'roll in a way that reflects a band writing from influence rather than copying it.

Album launch nights at Strings Bar have a specific energy: the band is performing new material to an audience that knows them, the room is invested in the outcome, and the knowledge that the record is finished and available changes the dynamic from a rehearsal atmosphere to something more celebratory. Strings Bar is the right venue for this: the acoustics work for the southern rock register, and the capacity means the energy concentrates rather than dispersing into a larger room.
