Robin Hill near Newport on 23 May hosts a double bill that is more coherent than the components separately suggest. Bingo Bango is the interactive bingo show featuring Freddie Mercury tribute act Freddie and host Disco Dave, where bingo is nominally the format and dancing and audience participation are what actually happens. Say You'll Be Spice closes the evening as one of the most decorated Spice Girls tribute acts in the UK.
Robin Hill has space for this kind of event to work at a scale where both the bingo comedy and the tribute performance have room to breathe. Bingo Bango has built a following on the circuit by treating the bingo format as a permission structure for entertainment that a normal pub quiz could not sustain: YMCA, crowd-work, and audience games that keep the room moving. The Spice Girls segment closes with the full late-90s catalogue in a performance that covers the dance routines as closely as five individuals can manage.
Tickets from £16.96 via Eventbrite. Good for adults and larger groups. More music events on the Isle of Wight across the spring and summer season.
