Festive Frequencies Gong & Sound Bath

Echo Me Sound Therapy brings a festive gong and sound bath to Quay Arts in Newport, with seasonal scents, singing bowls and a small gift included.

Festive Frequencies Gong & Sound Bath at Quay Arts gives you an hour away from December’s running list of jobs. Echo Me Sound Therapy brings gongs, bowls and chimes into the theatre for a listening experience with a seasonal theme. You can lie down, or sit if you prefer, while Mel shapes the sounds around the room. There is no performance for you to give and no previous experience needed.

The session draws on festive favourites, with notes of pine, orange and cinnamon alongside the instruments. Singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, drum, chimes, percussion and voice feature in the organiser’s description of the sound journey. The theatre setting gives this a different feel from a music gig or a busy Christmas fair: the activity is to get comfortable and listen. A small gift forms part of the event, adding something to take away from the afternoon as well as the hour itself.

This session is suitable for ages 14 and over and needs advance booking. Bring a yoga mat, pillows and blankets so you can arrange yourself in a comfortable position for the hour. The price is £15, with the session running from 2pm to 3pm in Newport. Read the organiser’s suitability guidance before deciding whether it is right for you. As a community wellbeing activity, it offers a defined pause you can book into a busy week, on your own or with someone who would welcome the same space.
