Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at Apollo Theatre

The Apollo Theatre screens Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro from the Royal Opera House, conducted by Antonio Pappano.

Presented by Apollo Theatre

Mozart’s *Le Nozze di Figaro* comes to the Apollo Theatre on Thursday 23 July as a Royal Opera House screening. Antonio Pappano conducts David McVicar’s production, with Riccardo Fassi, Giulia Semenzato and the Royal Opera Chorus among the principal cast listed for this Screenings at the Apollo presentation.

Opera on screen suits Newport when you want the production values of Covent Garden without the mainland travel. The Apollo’s programme mixes accessible classics with interactive nights, and Figaro sits firmly in the serious-music camp: arrive expecting wit, ensemble singing and a running time that rewards an unhurried evening. Doors for a 7pm start give you time to find a seat before the overture rolls.

Tickets are £15 via the Apollo Theatre or (01983) 210010. For more music and theatre on the Isle of Wight, pair it with dinner in Newport if you are making a midweek date of it. The Apollo’s Pyle Street location keeps you close to town centre parking and buses after the final aria.
