Perky Pots Workshop

Make and decorate two pottery chest pots across two evenings at Independent Arts Creative Hub. The £40 booking covers both dates.

Presented by Independent Arts and Firestone Studios

Perky Pots is a pottery workshop with a playful subject and a two-part format. At Independent Arts Creative Hub, Kirstie from Firestone Studios shows participants how to make two chest-shaped pots. You decorate them at a second session on 3 November, so booking the first evening means signing up for both. The gap gives the pots time to go through the making process before the finishing work starts. Adults only, 18 and over.

The first session is on Tuesday 6 October, 6pm to 7.30pm, at the Newport High Street hub. The £40 ticket covers both the making and the decorating, and you’ll need to book ahead through the organiser’s form. The public notice doesn’t give the second session’s time or say how collection works once the pots are finished, so look for both in your booking confirmation. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting clay or paint on. And get there early enough to hear the tutor’s opening instructions.

This arts and crafts workshop gives you a reason to come back to the same project instead of cramming every stage into one evening. The class description is specific about its subject, so have a look at the organiser’s event page before booking if you’re not sure it’s for you. Send questions about accessibility or the studio set-up to Independent Arts. Anything about making or firing goes to the tutor.
