Goddards Brewery in Sandown is a stop on the Rydabus 16C service route on Saturday 16 May, and the brewery makes the most of it. Visitors arriving on the heritage buses get 10% off food and drink on presentation of their Rydabus programme, and the brewery itself offers tours across the day for those who want to understand what goes into the ales that have been brewed here for over 30 years.
Goddards is a working brewery with a visitor-friendly setup that does not require you to be a beer specialist to enjoy the tour. The Rydabus connection gives the stop a built-in structure: arrive by vintage bus, take the tour, eat and drink with the discount, catch the next service on to Ryde or Newport. The brewery taproom has good views of the production area, which makes the beer taste more interesting.
Part of the Rydabus Weekend programme. The 16C service runs across the island; check timetables at iwbusmuseum.org.uk. More food and drink events on the island across the same weekend.
