Northwood House

A Georgian house and park in Cowes used for concerts, community fairs, weddings, talks and outdoor gatherings.

Northwood House gives Cowes a grander, greener setting than the High Street and harbour usually suggest. The Georgian house and its surrounding park sit just back from town, close enough for a stroll from Cowes but with enough space to feel removed from ferry queues and marina bustle. It suits concerts, community fairs, weddings, talks and those local events that need a bit of occasion around them.

The house has rooms and lawns that change character with the event: formal for a recital, relaxed for a market, atmospheric for an evening gathering. That flexibility is why Northwood House often feels like Cowes civic sitting room rather than just a hire venue. You can arrive for something specific and still enjoy the park, the architecture and the sense of being in a proper island landmark.

If you are making an afternoon of it, leave time for Cowes seafront or a drink near The Sugar Store afterwards. The park also gives children a breather when town feels too busy. Parking can tighten during regattas and summer weekends, so check event details and allow extra time when Cowes is full.

It is also a sensible choice when you want Cowes atmosphere without committing everyone to a whole day on the waterfront.
