The Riverside Centre
A flexible community venue beside Newport Harbour, with meeting rooms, a hall, bar and parking.
More in things to do near Newport and our Isle of Wight things to do guide.
The Riverside Centre stands beside Newport Harbour and serves as both a community hub and an events venue. Seven rooms of different sizes are available, including a large hall with a stage, sound system and licensed bar. Community Action Isle of Wight uses income from the building to support voluntary organisations across the Island. The varied spaces make it a regular home for markets, meetings, training days and social events, so the room named by an organiser matters when planning a visit.
Find the centre at The Quay, Newport, PO30 2QR, under the main road bridge on the eastern side of the harbour. It is roughly a five-minute walk from Newport bus station along the quayside. Venue customers can use the on-site car park but must register their vehicle using the reception touchpad; other visitors should check the current pay-and-display arrangements. The building advertises accessible facilities, although anyone needing a precise route or reserved space should contact reception in advance.
Core opening hours are 8am to 6pm on weekdays, but weekend and evening access follows the individual booking. For fairs and markets, allow time to browse several rooms if the organiser is using more than the main hall. The Riverside Centre supplies the setting rather than necessarily running each event, so questions about stallholders, admission or activities belong with the named organiser. General venue enquiries can be made on 01983 594400 or through the centre’s website.
