Ventnor Botanic Garden

Subtropical botanic garden on Undercliff Drive in Ventnor, known for its warm microclimate, rare plants, cafe, restaurant and outdoor event setting.

Ventnor Botanic Garden sits on Undercliff Drive, just west of Ventnor, in one of the Isle of Wight's warmest pockets. The garden uses its sheltered south-facing setting to grow subtropical and rare plants outdoors, which gives visits here a different feel from a standard park walk: agaves, palms, aloes, sea air and steep paths down towards the Undercliff.

The site works for families, garden lovers and anyone who wants a slower day near Ventnor without heading straight for the beach. There is a cafe, restaurant, shop, accessible route information and a large visitor car park that also helps if you are walking towards Steephill Cove or the coast path. Dogs are welcome on leads, which makes it easier to plan when the whole household is out.

In summer the garden often suits outdoor performances because the setting already feels theatrical: planted paths, open lawns and evening light from the south coast. Check the official garden details before travelling for admission, parking and opening times, then browse more family events if you want to build a fuller day around Ventnor.
