Summer Holidays: The Gruffalo Adventure

Gruffalo-themed forest school morning at Haylands Farm for children aged 1 to 7 with trails, crafts and campfire crumble.

Presented by Forever Wild at Heart

The Gruffalo Adventure at Haylands Farm on Saturday 8 August is a two-hour forest school morning for children aged one (and walking) to seven, with older siblings welcome if they would still enjoy it. Expect a Gruffalo story trail, scavenger and pebble hunts, crafts, mud kitchen play and apple and blackberry crumble warmed on the campfire.

Bug hunting, pond dipping, pirate ship play and hot chocolate round out the session, so bring a cup and bowl for snacks, a puddle suit if you have one, and footwear you are happy to get muddy in. One adult must stay per child; under ones are free. The farm asks you to meet at the entrance gate five minutes before 10am and walk up to the Forest School area, so allow a few extra minutes if you are using street parking.

Tickets are £12 per child with one adult through Forever Wild at Heart. For more family events on the Isle of Wight and outdoor school-holiday sessions, the August calendar fills quickly once the weather turns reliably warm.
