Isle of Wight Festival of Running - Tapnell 10k

The Isle of Wight Festival of Running features the Tapnell 10k as part of its west Wight programme of running events.

Presented by Isle of Wight Festival of Running

The Tapnell 10k on 6 June forms part of the Isle of Wight Festival of Running weekend programme, running through the Tapnell Farm area of the west Wight. Tapnell Farm sits on the downland ridge above the Freshwater Bay road, with open views north to the Solent and south toward the channel, and the 10k route uses the farm tracks and adjacent paths to cover terrain that gives the race a specific character: open, elevated, and visually expansive.

10k is the format that works for the broadest range of runners: long enough to be a genuine race, short enough that first-timers and regular social runners both have a reasonable shot at completion. The Tapnell setting removes the urban 10k experience entirely, replacing road racing with track-and-field conditions that suit trail runners and slower road runners equally. West Wight Sports and Community Centre provides the race base.
