Isle of Wight Open Studios runs for eleven days from 15 to 25 May 2026, opening the working spaces of around 200 artists across the island to visitors. Paint, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography, and printmaking in studios, converted outbuildings, gardens, pop-ups, and galleries that are closed to the public for most of the year. The route is self-directed and the range of work spans professional gallery artists to first-time exhibitors.
The Open Studios format gives you access to the island's making culture in a way that static gallery shows do not: the work is in the context it was made, the artist is usually present and usually willing to explain the process, and the prices tend to be accessible because the overheads of a studio visit are lower than a gallery show. For anyone interested in the depth of creative practice on the island, Open Studios is the best eleven days of the year to explore it.
