The Office Christmas Party Experience turns Department in Ryde into a workplace celebration with a cast of colleagues you may be glad you do not work with. Big Boss Barry expects guests to clock in for an immersive evening of comic office encounters, dancing and questionable behaviour. Bring friends who enjoy joining in with a show and let someone else take responsibility for the Christmas party.
Department’s invitation takes the form of a management memo, complete with compulsory attendance, awkward meetings with HR and the threat of organising next year’s Secret Santa. The performers build the evening around the familiar embarrassment of a staff party: the colleague who takes it too far, the strange conversation and the dancing. It is an experience with an office-party story, rather than a promise of a particular meal or drinks package. Those extras have not been advertised as part of the £20 ticket.
Guests start at 7pm on Saturday 12 December. Book through the Department Ryde app, the venue’s website or its shop on Cross Street. The finish time has not been announced, so check before arranging the journey home. You could go with actual colleagues or gather friends for a Christmas outing with an excuse to laugh at workplace habits. Department sits in the centre of Ryde, making the destination easy to pin down when you share the plan. Browse more community events across the Isle of Wight for other evenings together.
