Wight Eagles Under-8 Football Training

Free weekly football training with Wight Eagles for under-eights at The Bay Secondary School in Sandown.

Presented by Wight Eagles FC

Wight Eagles open their under-eight training to young footballers at The Bay Secondary School. The hour gives children a regular team setting in which to practise movement, ball control and playing with others. It is training rather than a match, so the useful work happens in short drills, games and repeated attempts. New players should contact the club before joining so coaches know who to expect.

Sessions run from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on Thursdays 17 and 24 September and 1 October. They are advertised as free, with no paid booking system shown. Parents should confirm the exact school entrance, pitch and age qualification with Wight Eagles. Bring a named drink and the footwear requested for the surface; shin pads and weather-appropriate layers may also be required. Outdoor training can be cancelled if conditions make the ground unsafe.

As a child-centred sports session, the hour is about learning and enjoying the group rather than judging a finished level of ability. Tell coaches about medical needs and make sure they have a current emergency contact. Adults should agree whether they stay beside the pitch or return for collection, and arrive promptly at the end. The school supplies the venue but does not run the club, so football questions and last-minute updates belong with Wight Eagles.
