Barn Dance

A caller-led barn dance at Bembridge Village Hall with live band, BYO drinks and proceeds for Home-Start Isle of Wight.

Presented by Bembridge Little Theatre Club

Bembridge Little Theatre Club's barn dance fills Bembridge Village Hall on the last Friday in July: live band, a caller to talk you through the steps, and a hall full of neighbours who treat dancing as a social event rather than a performance. You do not need to arrive knowing the dances. The caller is there for the hesitant ones at the back.

Bring your own drinks because there is no bar, which keeps the ticket price down and the focus on the floor. Tickets are £12.50, with proceeds going to Home-Start Isle of Wight according to the organisers' flyer. That matters if you wanted a Friday night out that still supports island families rather than just filling a diary gap.

The hall sits in the heart of Bembridge, a short hop from the harbour if you fancy an early supper before you head in. Phone 07841 950261 to book. It is indoors, so a wet July evening does not scupper the plan. The format suits mixed-age groups: teenagers who think ceilidhs are ironic, parents who remember them fondly, and anyone who likes live music without a mosh pit. More community events across the island fill the same sort of Friday slot if this one sells out.
