The Isle of Wight Ring of Red sets off from East Cowes Esplanade near Shoreside Café at 8am sharp on Sunday 8 November. Riders wear something red as a motorcycle tribute on Remembrance Sunday, and everyone is welcome to ride along. The start is an hour earlier than in previous years, to give the riders a better run, so use the 2026 time. You meet outdoors on the Esplanade by the café.
The clockwise route is roughly 75 miles, about two and a half hours of riding, with a five-minute stop at Blackgang viewpoint car park. It runs through Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor, then Niton, along Military Road to Freshwater and on to Yarmouth. The return goes through Shalfleet and Gurnard, then Northwood and on into Newport. Riders finish at Morrisons car park, then move on to the Square for the 11am silence.
The ride won’t go ahead if the weather is appalling, on safety grounds, so check the organiser’s event page before you leave home. Be at the start before 8am. The 8am–11am window covers the ride and the silence together. Riders are asked to keep to speed limits. No participation charge is mentioned. For other Remembrance gatherings, see the community events, and check each one’s arrangements before you travel.
