Mini Red tennis brings the court down to a scale that works for younger children, using softer balls, shorter racquets and simple games to build early control. These sessions take place in the sports hall at UKSA and are aimed specifically at pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The indoor setting removes the weather problem and lets the coach keep activities moving across a clearly defined space.
The hour runs from 4pm to 5pm on Mondays 14, 21 and 28 September. Each session is advertised at £10, with advance contact or booking needed so the coach can manage numbers. Parents should confirm whether racquets are supplied and what trainers are suitable for the hall floor. Arrive early enough for children to change footwear, use the toilet and be ready when the group starts.
This beginner sports activity is about coordination, movement and enjoyment rather than full scoring or long rallies. Clothing should allow easy running and reaching, and a named water bottle is useful. Adults need to check whether they watch from the hall or collect at a set point elsewhere on the campus. The organiser’s Facebook notice is the source for availability and cancellations; UKSA should only be contacted for questions about the building itself.
