Mountbatten Quiz Night at the hospice in Newport gives your next catch-up a purpose and a table to gather round. Bring a team of four, work through the general knowledge questions and see which friend has been storing the most useful facts. The evening takes place at the JCC Café on Halberry Lane, with the proceeds supporting Mountbatten’s work on the Isle of Wight.
A quiz is a good excuse to put four people’s different interests together. One person may know the music, another the sport, while someone else remembers the fact the rest of you have forgotten. You do not need to organise the entertainment yourself; the questions provide the shape of the evening. Entry costs £3 per person, and all proceeds go to Mountbatten Hospice Isle of Wight. That makes the fundraiser a modest-cost way to support a cause with a place in Island life.
Book your team by emailing hospice.quizmaster@gmail.com or calling Carl on 07925 033212, so you have the numbers sorted before the night. Doors open at 6.30pm for the 7pm quiz start. Give your group a meeting time that leaves space to arrive together and settle in before the first question. For a community evening away from the usual round of errands, this offers company, a shared challenge and a contribution to the local hospice, all in one plan you can put in the diary.
